Dr. Dorri Goldschmidt

Optometrist

Dr. Dorrine Goldschmidt, OD graduated from the University of Alabama School of Optometry in 1992 and has been caring for patients in the Gardendale area for over 17 years. She is a member of the Alabama Optometric Association, the American Optometric Society, and the National Association of Athletic Trainers (NATA). Raised in Pelham, Alabama, Dr. Goldschmidt earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University.

While she initially entered the field of Sports Vision Training, Dr. Goldschmidt’s passion has since shifted to pioneering advancements in eye care, particularly in Orthokeratology (OrthoK) and MiSight for children. She is also a leader in the use of Neurolens technology, which has revolutionized her practice by addressing symptoms related to visual misalignment.

Her personal and professional goal is to help individuals achieve optimal visual performance and eye health using the most advanced and effective technologies available. Outside of work, Dr. Goldschmidt enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and engaging in arts and crafts. She is dedicated to supporting the growth and education of young people in her community.

Her mission at Southern Focus Vision is to provide a professional and caring environment where the community can receive the very best in eye care.

Dr. Anne Garrison Meighen

Optometrist

Dr. Anne Garrison Meighen, OD has practiced primary care optometry for over 30 years in the state of Alabama. Dr. Meighen was inspired by the injury her father received from an artillery accident which resulted in a prosthetic eye.

Dr. Meighen has participated in several eye care missions including Honduras, Jamaica, and Thailand and is a proud member of the American Optometric Association, including the Alabama chapter. She has served on various committees and performed volunteer service on several community Vision Vans.

In her spare time, Dr. Meighen is an enthusiastic scuba diver and kayaker. She enjoys playing the guitar and has even been in a couple of local rock bands. She is currently accepting eye care patients at Southern Focus Vision in Gardendale, AL.
